Hi there again . here is another page I did for my housemate for a xmas present . It was done using the same background technique as the last post .

I changed it a lit and than I framed it before I gave it to my friend .

Here are some close ups of this page .

I used seed beads on this one instead of mica flakes .

Hope you have been inspired to have a try at this technique it is really fun See you next time .
Hi Everyone this is the next layout I am sharing with you . I taught this  background technique as a class at Shazz and Al's Retreat in July . I love this technique it is versatile and looks different very time I use it and it is so easy to do .

So to start off with I covered a piece of chipboard in modelling paste . Don't smooth it out as you want texture so the more lumpy bumpy the better . Dry this off .When I do this technique I do several at once and leave them to dry in the sun . Then I have some for another day but if your impatient you can use a heat tool. After it had dried , I added more texture paste that I coloured with some ink.

When that was dry I sprayed some mists over it and dried them . Next I got happy with my stamps and stamped with stazon ink. Any type of stamp is good to add stamped texture as you can see I have used a ladies face stamp on the left hand side of this photo .Once that was completed I used some plain modelling paste threw a stencil to add even more texture. This is a good step to use if you feel you have loud spots you can tame it down a bit with the texture paste .

I added a few strips of builders tape here and there .You can see in this pic on the left hand side I have used a ladies face stamp again  .

When I was happy with how it was looking I added strips of paper that co ordinated with the coloured ink  I had used . I layered some of these strips with foam mounting tape .I added a few bits at the bottom for balance .

I wanted to add a bit of glamour to the page so I added some mica flakes here and there . You could use glitter in this step as well or embossing powder . I added some rub ons randomly .

Once I was happy with all those steps it was time to add a photo and some embellishments. I added some charms and flowers .

I find the most common mistake people make when adding charms and embellishments is they spread them to far apart . You want your embellishments to not only touch but to overlap each other, as this helps to make them appear as one big embellishment rather than lots of smaller individual ones .

Once again I hope you enjoyed having a look and Ill add some more photos using this back ground technique. Until then stay safe and happy crafting .

Hi everyone as promised some more pics of projects I have done over my 12 month break .
To achieve this look I firstly put down some impasto threw a circle stencil ,on a 12 x 12  piece of plain chip board ,when it was dry I covered the area on which I had placed impasto with crackle medium . When that had dried I gave the whole piece a coat in gesso . Next I sprayed on some mists randomly over the textured section making sure I got some run parts to run .I did these so they ran side to side not top to bottom .

After I sprayed on mists I used my stencil again and added some Inka Gold Rub .This helped to highlight some on the texture I had made .As you can see I placed it down randomly and didn't try to match up circles at all . I then inked the edge of the project to give it some definition .

Then when it was all dry, I started to add some paper and my photo and one of my favourite  manor house flowers. I love, love, love this flower it is such a pretty colour don't know why they stopped selling them . Luckily I bought about 20 before they sold out . So you can expect to see them used again somewhere  LOL

I added some charms just to be different .

I love these little cogs the look so good on any page they are not just to use for masculine pages .

This flower already has the look of gesso painted randomly over it and I just love it .

Hi there everyone  posting another pic of a page I did for the Workshop Wonders day . Its a fun busy day where you get to do 4 classes with 4 teachers all have different styles and it show cases the huge pool of talent that Queensland has . If you are interested in coming along contact Alison Bevis on Facebook and shell give you all the details.

For the background I have used some paintable wall paper I got from Bunnings . I sprayed mists on it , stamped it , inked it and used texture paste threw a stencil and also stuck down some plaster tape for added texture .

I cut a few bits of paper and distressed them and inked the edges .

I used a twiddle Bits chipboard and put imposing powder on it and layered charms and flowers over it .

I decided I like the embossing powder so much I adde some to the page as well .I went over some of the charms with Glam Glaze . Hope you had fun looking see you next time .
Hi Everyone as promised I am posting some pics of work I have done in the last 12 months while I was off line . So here we go .

This is a page that I scrap lifted my own work . I worked it so I could fit it into a shorter class time as the original was a four hour class . So I used Kaiser Craft base coat paper and a manor house flower and of course some charms . The heart frame in the back ground  was made using old rub ons that don't rub on very well and some Shazza's Magic Mica Mists .

Well pees can anyone believe it I made a Christmas album …. very unlike me . Anyone who knows me will tell you Iam not big on Christmas ,so this will not be repeated lol . It is a mini album made from a pack of Kaiser Craft cards and chip board . I love the dear charm its so cute . I made this album to teach at Fantasia Scrapbooking shop at Bella Vista . but I moved back to Brisbane before I got a chance to teach it .

Well Hi there everyone its been a very long time since I posted on my blog . So firstly to up date you where Ive been and what I have been up to .Last september  I applied and got a job as a Sales and Training Manager for New South Wales so of course I moved to Sydney and have been working for the last 12 months .

I continued to scrap while I was down there but not as frequently as I would have liked . I also had the opportunity to teach some of my mixed media projects in a wonderful shop at Bella Vista called Fantasia  http://www.fantasia.com.au.
I enjoyed my time in Sydney and met and worked with some awesome people
While in Sydney I was able to connect with my Aunty Elaine ( my mothers sister and who was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer ) and my cousins .

My Cousin Wayne cooked me plenty of roasts which helped with my homesickness .

In July I came back to Brisbane to hold Shaz &Als retreat ,with my good friend Alison Bevis ( who is on the Kasier Craft Design team )

While in Brisbane seeing all my friends and Family I felt in my heart it was time to come home.
Since coming home I have had lots to do and cope with and life was frantic at first . I had to move back into my house ,It had been vacated under unpleasant circumstances . My son was placed back in a mental health facility and my youngest daughter had her third baby .
Baby Luke was born with a rare heart condition and was not expected to live very long . He decided he had other plans and wanted to stay around . He has grown and astounded the Doctors and was released from hospital after only 5 weeks .
Life has been hectic but I have had many blessings showered on my . My life is not what it was ,but I am grateful for all I have been given. I have had lots of scrapping opportunities along the way and will post them here over the next little while . Its nice to be back in the blogging world and hope you'll all come back for a visit to see what crafty things Iam up to and new products I have found . thanks again for visiting , Cheers Shazz .
