Well hello everyone can you see the big smile on my face Its because of the great weekend I had .

Yes you guessed it I spent the weekend learning How Finnabair creates her amazing mixed media projects . I had a really great time and learnt a lot and got to play with products I have never used before . It was really hot all weekend here in Brisbane and for the first time since I got my solar hot water on I can say it is Sunny Queensland .The weather didnt stop anyones eagerness to learn. There where some ladies there that had come all the way from Lismore for the classses and one from NZ . I asked her why she didnt just wait for Finn to get to NZ as it was next on her tour . The Lady said she was only doing two classes at the NZ leg of the tour and she wanted to do all four so she came to Brissy to do them. Now thats dedicated .

Finn doesnt use paint trays she just uses her hand to mix colour on so Tina and I followed suit in true Finn style ..

Hi everyone well I have had enough of the rain here in Queensland everywhere is flooding and we are all growing webbed feet to cope LOL. I held a Mixed Media She Art class at my place on Saturday night I did think it wouldnt go ahead because of the flooding but everyone braved the weather and attended. What a great bunch of ladies . I didnt get to bed untill 1oclock but very happy . First up  is a photo of one of my canvases I did in the first She Art  class I taught and used as my demo  .

 

 

 

Close ups  . We all had a great time in the class and enjoyed making new friends .

 

 

This is the lovely Heidi Williams and her creation , everyone thought it looked abit like me same kind of hair .

 



Next is Alison Bevis Alison is very quite but her work speaks volumes . (Alison teaches at Kaiser BrownsPlains as well )

Next we have Miss Purple opps I mean Cassandra Highet  . Cassandra got adventurous  and we where all liking  her winged girl  Great work .

The lovely Mumma Bear aka Julia ( I knew I would like this lady with a that kinda name, My children call me Mumma bear and Iam Nanna bear to my grandchildren )
Julia told she was so excited and couldnt wait to try this again .

Well Julia did go home and try it again and she is on fire This is some more of her work .

Julia has bloomed as a Mixed Media artist Iam so happy when I see poeple getting as excited as I do about craft it gives me the warm and fuzzies . Great job Julia .

Hi all well doesnt time get away with you  well me it does anyway.LOL thought Id share a box I have made for a friend . I have used the same technique as I used on my journals that where from a few posts ago .

 

 

I have used paper flowers metal embelishments and wooden embelishments on a bought box .

 '

I have used Gesso and Shazzas magic mica mists and Gold Rub & Buff .

 '
I have used Tim Holtz foundation feet and knob .

I love how with this technique nothing has to match You can use silver charms bronze wooden or chipboard and it all matches in the end .

Having a play was just what I needed to destress me any way stay safe untill next time >

 

I taught a Mixed Media Canvas class today and this is the my demo canvas .It has lots of layers on it . Paper . Stamping, Texture paste,glimmer sprays,rub ons paint ,book pages , and doodling

 

I had lots of fun doing this class and think all the ladies enjoyed getting thier hands dirty LOL .THe Title says " SHE KNEW HER DREAMS COULD COME TRUE "

Another Art journal I have done this time I used theKaiser Recipe book. It holds A4 pages and I used the new Kaiser wooden door florish They are quite large . I have also use one of the prima angels that I bought fromTenisha at  https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/211521352283974/members/ .

Because  we have had so much rain and flooding here in Queensland in the last few days and I hurt my back at work than I have been house bound . So to save me getting cabin fever . I dosed up on strong pain killers and headed to the scrap room . I decided I need a Art Journal . I love the way it turned out  and it was fun doing Creative Messy Play . I used plenty of charms and bit and pieces That I couldnt use other wise as I hated the colours of them .  

 

    

  
So I started by sticking it all done on my journal covers . Than coated it in guesso then I used mists to colour it all '

Than I put a bit of rub and buff over the top . Than I coated it all with a coat of Kaiser gloss acrylic . Just need to had some rings and some pages . So expect some art journalling in the near future .

The retreat that I went on is the first one I have been on . I waited till the night before to pack and then couldnt decide what to take and Iam not talking about clothes LOL . When I got to the retreat I sat  with Hiedi Williams and Tina Connell . Tina did quite a few pages over the weekend . she told me she had made up kits with paper and photos and that then she knew what to take to use . I think this is a great tip for anyone going on a retreat . I did how ever get two pages done . This one of them . It has lots of paper layers and an envelope with pull outs on both sides .

I cut the wing of the one side of the flowers and used it on the flap of the envelope with a different flower and a fabe bead .

Love these little face beads . The paper layers dont show up very well in photo . there are lots a pieces on the page .Yes a photo of me taken a few years ago when I was feeling quite a bit younger .
